Pricing Example
Below is an example of how to calculate a price estimate for your quilt.
Imagine that your quilt is 54″ W x 68″ H.
You chose the Edge-to-Edge quilt design option.
54″ x 68″ = 3,672 square inches.
- 3,672 x $0.02 (Edge-to-Edge quilting) = $73.44
- (68” + 8”) x $0.30 (Batting) = $22.80
- Needle and Thread Charge = $8.00
- Virginia Tax on the needle, thread, and batting (5.3%) = $1.63
- Total Estimate: = $105.87
Quilt Preparation
Follow all of the instructions below to facilitate the best quilting process for your quilt!
- Remove all embellishments from the quilt top. This includes pins, buttons, charms, sequins, etc.
- Trim all loose threads on both sides of the quilt top.
- Press the quilt top and backing.
- “Square” the quilt top. You will need to measure and trim (if needed) the quilt top. Example: The width of the top should be the same as the width of the center and bottom. The height of the left side of the quilt top should be the same as the center and right side of the quilt top.
- Pin a sticky note with the word “Top” written on it to the top of the quilt top. Do the same with the backing fabric if using a directional fabric.
